It has been about 2 months since my accident with the R65, and I spent all that downtime working on my bike (even when the wounds were still fresh). All my injuries have healed, and the bike is rebuilt and better than ever. Feels great to be back on a bike.
The only regret I have is that I was not able to salvage the original fairing. I really liked that fairing.

I found a local muffler shop willing to experiment with the pipes. A day trip around the Sierra Madre mountain range was "recommended" to test them out.

Those muffs look like Norton Peashooters repops that I installed on both my R65s.. Did you have them custom built? I'm sure they "sing" well.

Yup, they're supposed to like like peashooters. I printed out tons of pictures on the web and showed it to the fabricators. Since they were only used to making mufflers for mopeds, they were really motivated to do it just for the sake of challenge. It's made out of Stainless steel, so I should have no problems with corrosion in the long run. The Mufflers themselves are glasspacked, but the cones are easily removable and the packing replaced.

Funny thing though, the peashooters are more quieter than my old clones, but they have this really low, throaty sound which sounds pretty nice as the RPM's go up.

What's really nice is how much it costed me. The guys who made them asked for 4000 pesos. That's around $85 in the U.S.  Grin

I was really bored for the past two months. I saw a monza gas cap adapter in the internet and decided to make one. A couple of hours on solidworks and in my school's cnc machine yielded this:

Its made from aluminium. and the Monza cap I used just came from ebay. Haha

I wasn't really doing anything lately, so I took a 8x8 fiberglass board, a tub of body filler, a roll of sandpaper and paint leftover from the bike's respray.

I turned some extended nuts on a lathe to create a custom mount. It's not perfect, but it kinda looked ok to me for a DIY project.

Oh, and I had it pinstriped again. White instead of silver this time. The white pinstripe paint was waaay brighter than the silver.

I made a Fork brace. I had tried to incorporate the original front fender, hence the asymmetrical bolt pattern.

Rockers Thrust Bearing Mods from Motoren Israel installed.

Very simple mod to do. End play was reduced to simple oil film movement by a combination of shimming and the "squeeze" method.

I installed a P4 30/34 caliper with the 65mm mounts I found used on ebay. Modern performance, for less than $100

It's caliper bracket for old Ducati's and Moto Guzzi's.
Since the R65 has an F08 compatible caliper, I assumed they'd bolt right up. And, they did!

The Caliper is a Brembo P4. What's nice is that there's an available adapter for both the 40 and 65mm variant. And the P4's come in either a 4 pot 34mm or a 4 pot 30/34mm. I just bought the cheapest 2nd hand caliper available on ebay at that time.

Ed Milich from Guzzi Power sells the adapters.
